Our guest speaker is Marama Royal who will share on the history, development, role and activities of the Ngati Whatua Orakei Trust.
Marama was born and raised in Tamaki and was fortunate enough to attend and be educated at Queen Victoria Kura in Parnell. Marama returned to Tamaki in 2008 after living 26 years in Rotorua and Taupo where her three children were born. Marama is a proud Nan of five mokopuna who are her world and Marama is focused on ensuring that her mokopuna have a safe, happy, healthy and thriving world for them to succeed in.
Marama has been a Director of Ngati Whatua Orakei Trust since 2O1O and has served as Chair since December 2O17. Marama holds several directorships and chair roles across Tamaki and Aotearoa and has recently been appointed as Pro Chancellor at AUT.
Marama has extensive experience in strategic planning, relationship management, leadership, governance, and organisational change.
Marama is a current serving Justice of the Peace and an Independent Marriage Celebrant which are her voluntary roles within the community. Marama is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for whanau, especially her kaumatua and she is a servant of her people.
