Predator Control Training, Conservation Volunteers - Selwyn Park / Selwyn Bush

  • Selwyn Park 203 Kohimarama Road Auckland, Auckland, 1071 New Zealand (map)

In partnership with Auckland Council we currently operate a volunteer predator control programme in over 30 parks throughout Auckland. We have over 100 trappers helping remove pest species and bring back bird life to Auckland.

To become a trapper, you must attend ONE training session, morning OR afternoon. Spaces are limited so please book for the session ASAP. This month’s session will be:

Tuesday, 26-Mar, 8:30-9:30am at Selwyn Park (behind Selwyn College)

Once trained, volunteers are assigned to a park where we operate a predator control network. Here you will bait and reset traps and record your catches (mostly rats and mice). The trapping takes 30-90 minutes, and most trappers walk their line of traps 1 or 2 times each month. Our website for more details is HERE
